Thanksgiving is a time to reflect on our good fortune and express gratitude with family and friends. What a perfect time to express appreciation to current and former fellows who continue to invigorate me with their enthusiasm, intellect, and curiosity.
This September at our International Surgical Sleep Society meeting in Philadelphia, I was delighted to spend time with the otolaryngologists who have trained or are training in our formal sleep medicine and sleep surgery fellowship programs. They are not only incredible physicians/surgeons but also fantastic people. It is just wonderful to see all the amazing things they are accomplishing. From left to right in the picture below, they are:
David Kent, MD (Vanderbilt University)
Katherine Green, MD, MS (University of Colorado)
Phillip Huyett, MD (Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary)
Suraj Kedarisetty, MD (Kaiser Northern California)
Emily Commesso, MD (current sleep surgery fellow, trained at Duke University)
Josie Xu, MD (University of Toronto)
